Flooring Colors & Styles

Color is the decision homeowners agonize over most, and the one that is hardest to judge from a small sample. Here is how we help Jacksonville homeowners pick a vinyl plank or tile tone that still looks right two years later.

Braga Remodeling is a Jacksonville remodeling contractor specializing in bathroom remodeling, kitchen remodeling, paver installation, luxury vinyl plank flooring and tile installation.

Overview

Judge the color in your own house, in your own light

A sample under showroom lighting tells you very little. Florida light is bright and warm, and it changes what a plank looks like at nine in the morning versus five in the afternoon. We leave samples with you and ask you to look at them on the floor, in the room they are going in, at different times of day.

Three things matter more than the exact shade: how much light the room gets, what the cabinets and trim are doing, and how much dust and pet hair you want to see. Very dark and very light floors both show more than a mid-tone. That is not a reason to avoid them — it is just worth knowing before you commit.

We install what you choose. This page is about giving you enough information to choose confidently rather than steering you toward a particular product line.

Color Directions

Common tones and how they behave

Light Oak & Blonde Tones

Open up smaller and darker rooms and read very current in Florida homes. Show less pet hair, more of the fine dust and scuffs.

  • Makes rooms feel larger
  • Pairs with white and grey cabinets
  • Hides pet hair well

Mid-Tone Natural Browns

The most forgiving choice: warm, neutral and the least likely to date. Hides everyday dust and hair better than either extreme.

  • Most forgiving day to day
  • Works with most cabinet colors
  • Long-lasting look

Grey & Greige Tones

Cool and contemporary; the undertone is what matters. A grey that fights warm cabinets or warm tile looks off no matter how good the plank is.

  • Modern, cool feel
  • Check undertone against trim
  • Best in bright rooms

Dark Walnut & Espresso

Dramatic and rich in well-lit rooms. Shows dust, hair and footprints the most, so it suits lower-traffic areas better.

  • High contrast look
  • Needs good natural light
  • Shows dust most

Plank Width & Length

Wider, longer planks make an open floor plan look calmer and larger; narrower planks read more traditional.

  • Wide planks for open plans
  • Narrow reads traditional
  • Affects perceived room size

Finish & Texture

Matte and low-sheen finishes hide scuffs and reflections better than glossy ones. Embossed textures add realism underfoot.

  • Matte hides scuffs
  • Low sheen for bright rooms
  • Textured surfaces feel real

Our Process

How we help you choose

01

Look at the Rooms

At the free measurement we note light, cabinets, trim, doors and any tile that is staying.

02

Narrow to a Few Options

We shortlist tones and plank widths that suit the house instead of handing you a hundred samples.

03

Live With the Samples

Samples stay on the floor in your rooms for a few days, morning and evening, before you decide.

04

Confirm & Install

Final color, trim and transitions are confirmed in writing, then the floor is installed.
