LVP Flooring • Mandarin, Jacksonville FL
Many Mandarin houses have three or four floors in one: carpet in the bedrooms, ceramic in the kitchen, laminate somewhere in between, and a Florida room added later. Braga Remodeling takes them out and puts one waterproof plank through the house, with the height differences worked out before the first plank goes down.

Overview
Each old floor comes out at its own price, carpet at $0.50/sq ft and tile from $2.00/sq ft, and leaves the slab at a different condition. Carpet leaves tack strip and staples; tile leaves thinset that has to be ground flat; glued laminate or sheet vinyl may leave adhesive. We note which is under which room at the measurement so the estimate is accurate.
Height is the other issue. Where tile met carpet there is usually a ridge or a dip in the slab. We level those spots so the new plank runs flat through doorways instead of rocking over the old seam. The floor preparation needed is written into the estimate.
Florida rooms and enclosed porches in older Mandarin homes often sit a step down or a little out of level with the main house. We measure them separately and tell you whether the plank can continue into the room or whether a transition at the door is the honest answer.

Wet rooms
Kitchens in Mandarin homes from the 1980s and 1990s were usually tiled. Replacing that tile with plank warms the room up and matches the rest of the house. We cut around the existing cabinets, and if the dishwasher or refrigerator needs to come out to finish the floor, it is on the estimate.
A hall bath can take waterproof plank too. The toilet comes off, the floor goes in, and the edges at the tub and around the toilet flange are sealed as the manufacturer requires. Showers stay tile; see bathroom remodeling if the room needs more than a floor.
Along the river
Houses near the river in Mandarin Point, Beauclerc and along Loretto Road sit on slabs that can hold more moisture. We test the slab before quoting and use the manufacturer's moisture protection when it is needed, so the floor's warranty conditions are met.
Large oaks also mean more grit and leaves tracked in at the back door. A mat at each exterior door protects the wear layer more than any upgrade.
