Remodeling & Installation • Fernandina Beach, FL
Braga Remodeling brings bathroom remodeling, kitchen remodeling, tile installation and luxury vinyl plank to Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island, from historic homes downtown to newer houses and condos near the ocean.
Working in Fernandina Beach
Fernandina Beach is the main town on Amelia Island in Nassau County, and its housing covers a wide span of time. Downtown has a historic district with wood-frame homes that are a century old or more, while the rest of the island and nearby mainland hold mid-century houses, newer subdivisions, and condos and townhomes close to the beach.
Older homes need a different approach than a house on a concrete slab. Many sit on raised wood-framed floors, so before a bathroom or kitchen is tiled we check the subfloor for movement and stiffness and reinforce or correct it where needed. Tile set over a floor that flexes will crack, no matter how good the tile is.
Our work is interior remodeling and installation, and we aim to respect the character of an older house while updating the rooms that get the hardest use. If your home is in the historic district, check with the city about whether your project needs review — we are glad to provide the scope details you need for that.
For newer island homes and condos, the questions are closer to what we see at any coastal property: humidity, sand and moisture-resistant finishes. Waterproof vinyl flooring and porcelain tile both suit those conditions. Every project starts with a free measurement and a written scope, and our pricing page explains how jobs are priced.
