Tile Cost & Planning • Jacksonville, FL
Tile pricing changes with much more than square footage. Existing-surface removal, substrate flatness, tile size, layout complexity, waterproofing, cuts, grout joints and finish details all affect the installation scope.
A useful tile estimate should explain preparation and layout, not only a per-square-foot installation number. Those hidden steps are what determine whether the finished tile stays flat, supported and visually consistent.

Overview
The condition of the surface underneath the tile is one of the largest variables. A clean, flat substrate is different from a slab that needs grinding or leveling, and a shower requires waterproofing work that a dry interior floor does not.
Tile format and layout also affect labor. Large-format pieces require careful flatness and mortar coverage, while mosaics, patterns, niches, corners and exposed edges increase the number of layout decisions and cuts.
Braga Remodeling reviews those conditions before pricing the work so the written estimate reflects the actual installation scope instead of an advertised rate that leaves important preparation out.

Cost Drivers
Existing flooring, adhesive, uneven areas or unsuitable surfaces may need removal or correction before new tile can be installed.
Large-format tile, mosaics, diagonal layouts and patterns change the amount of layout work, cuts and installation time.
Showers and other wet areas require a waterproof system before the decorative tile finish is installed.
Grout joints, exposed edges, transitions, niches and sealant details affect the final labor and finished appearance.
Our Process
We measure the area and inspect the existing surface, room geometry and conditions that affect preparation.
We review the tile format, pattern, grout-joint expectations and special details such as niches or exposed edges.
Removal, flattening, waterproofing or other substrate work is incorporated into the proposed scope where needed.
You receive a written estimate for the Braga Remodeling work before installation is scheduled.
